Committee to Approve Minutes

Committee to approve the 6/17/26 meeting minutes.

• Eric Rubin motioned to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded by Deborah Burke. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Malden River Works Salt Shed & Boathouse Project Updates

Committee to review and discuss cost estimate details provided during the last meeting.

The committee has asked Ron Hogan to attend the meeting to discuss current and future project funding.

• The group reviewed the slides that designLAB presented at the last meeting
• Group had an open question for designLAB about whether the soft costs we are carrying look accurate
• Group generally felt that the salt shed hoop options were not durable, aesthetic, or cost effective enough to consider
• Group reviewed Phase 2 funding to date, which likely leaves about a $2M gap
• Group would like to go to bid quickly to get true market costs
• Group would like to consider discussing bonding with the Mayor, but wants to gather some more information first, including:
• Nelson to find out if the MC cable alternative is code compliant (could result in savings of $37,200)
• Committee to talk to designLAB further about the storage rack alternatives
• Committee to talk to designLAB further about bidding the salt shed as a deduct alternate
• Group made the following decisions about other cost-saving alternatives:
• No wood siding, would prefer aluminum
• Yes, switch roof to corrugated metal
• Keep storefront window system
• Group suggested July 9 at 10AM for a follow up meeting with designLAB, Bekah to ask for their availability

There were no invoices to approve.

Councillor Winslow motioned to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Eric Rubin. Group voted unanimously at adjourn at 3:11PM.
